The 2003 For Excursion has a wheelbase of 137.1 inches and 9 passenger capacity
which can handle heavy transportation. With this features it is considered as
the biggest and the meanest sports utility vehicle. On the outside it has a rugged
menacing look and a comfortable, widely-spaced interior. It was produced due to
the customer's request for a heavier and powerful SUV with enhanced towing and
cargo capacity.

The XLT and XLT Premium editions combined to produce a fully loaded Eddie Bauer
edition in the Excursion Line-up. Two-wheel drive models use a powerful 5.4-liter
V8 with 225 horsepower at 4500rpm and 350lb-ft of torque at 2500rpm. Four-wheel
drive models are equipped with a massive 6.8-liter V10 with 310 horsepower at
4250rpm and 425lb-ft of torque at 3250rpm.
Exciting features include new shock absorbers plus an enhanced suspension system,
a 4-speed automatic transmission which allows free use of the driver's hands and
antilock 4-wheel disc brakes which minimize stopping distances. Together with
this is the new, more powerful and cleaner 6.0-liter Power Stroke diesel and new
five-speed TorqShift automatic transmission combined to make a terrific 325 horsepower
at 3,300rpm and 550lb-ft of torque at 2,000rpm. It can save up to 10 percent fuel
economy and 20 percent lower emissions making it pocket and environment friendly.
